Allen has been a lifelong resident of Catawba County, NC and began playing the guitar at the age of twelve when his uncle Harlan Biggerstaff brought a ukulele home when he retired from the Army.

Allen began playing guitar at church and started playing in top forty bands around the age of twenty playing both bass and guitar. As a result of the annual Biggerstaff Family reunion, he began playing bluegrass with his brothers Robert and Joe along with cousin Michael Wright. They formed Biggerstaff Bluegrass and played for several years until Willow Creek was formed. He switched to the mandolin at that time and is excited about the future of the Bluegrass Music.

Dennis has been involved in music since he was nine years old.  His musical career began by singing with his family in a McDowell county church in Yukon WV, which then led into playing various instruments including the Guitar, Mandolin, Bass and Dobro while his father played Banjo.  His expertise is in playing lead guitar, which has been his love for 30 years.

Dennis played and traveled for three years with “Standing Tall”, a gospel/bluegrass group that performed all over the Southeast and Midwest. He has also played with other gospel/bluegrass groups such as “Standing Fast”, “Fireproof”, and “Biggerstaff Bluegrass” before he helped form the “Willow Creek Bluegrass” band in early 2006.

Harold is our newest addition to Willow Creek.  Harold has been playing banjo with numerous groups for quite a while and brings a new perspective to different styles of banjo, musical timing, and an overall presence to our group, to bluegrass music, and to our bluegrass sound. Harold resides in Polkville, NC. Harold has written bluegrass songs that Willow Creek performs and is very knowledgeable in both lyric and music creation.

Michael has been involved with music for many years starting with piano lessons at age seven in Lincoln County, NC which began his love of music. He sang in church while growing up and played in various rock and roll and country bands along the way. He played the guitar and sang while in the 4H club and continued performing through his earlier years and even at various USO Clubs while in the service.
